Children’s University
Tocal Homestead is a Learning Destination for Children’s University Newcastle!
Visit us any Sunday (10am – 3pm), and remember to bring your University Passport!
You will discover little known facts about one of Australia’s oldest farms and the way people lived from the earliest times. Look through the interesting old house with the kitchen out the back, see the old slab barn that looks like a church and visit the pigs that have an interesting ancestry. Parents will enjoy the self-guided audio tour around the site.
We recommend allowing a minimum of 1.5 – 2.0 hours for your visit. You are welcome to bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy on the lawns. Devonshire teas and cold drinks are also on sale at the Visitor Centre (where you will go to get your stamp and answer sheet at the end of your visit).
